Aldi grocery chain is planning a new location in Navarre according to documents filed with the county.
Located at the corner of U.S. Highway 98 and Ortega street alongside Culvers, the roughly 19 acre parcel sold to Navarre 19 LLC in June 2018 for $3.29 million.
Navarre 19 LLC is registered to Kraig Cruse and Chandler Huff. Both men are involved in the development of The Boulevard of Navarre, a entertainment and retail development planned for the northwest corner of the intersection of Highway 87 and U.S. Highway 98.
Preliminary site plans for the property show a grocery store at the front left corner of the property with 95 parking spaces. An additional commercial building would be located at the back of the property with vacant parcels that could potentially be developed later accessed from an internal street.
The plan includes stormwater retention ponds and driveway access from both Ortega and 98.
The property owners will be seeking a variance to allow additional driveway access to the property from the Zoning Board Thursday night. The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Santa Rosa County Administrative Complex boardroom in Milton.
